Day 9 & 10 - #Europe2019
Ars, France
I Ars. Can I just stay here? Each destination has been lovely in it’s own way. Annecy, our last stop, was gorgeous, bustling and busy. Ars is the opposite - slow and peaceful, and of course still beautiful.
Fun fact ~ every French RV campsite ๐Ÿ• allows you to order bread the evening before to be ready in the morning. This morning we got 6 large fresh baguettes and some d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s chocolate croissants for 8 Euro ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿฅ–๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘Œ #willbedoingthatdaily
Our stop in Ars came to be to pray in front of the incorrupt body of St. John Marie Vianney - the Cure of Ars ๐Ÿ˜‡ There are over 100 saints that are incorrupt....God’s miracle to attest to the holy lives of these men and women. While here, we’ve been reading the boys about his life - a few chapters a day #kidversion - and we are all in awe of him and in awe that we now understand the cities they are mentioning, walking into his house and seeing his personal belongings and more. He was such a devout man with such a love of souls - constant prayer and penance. During a time of very little faith left in France, he brought many back through his love and holiness. I could type forever on him, but will go on ๐Ÿ’• I'm including a video of the church as I know some of you would like to see it....beautiful!
We think the little boys officially think we are on #Europeplaygroundtour2019 ๐Ÿ˜‚ This campsite is my favorite - well...I’ve loved them all for different reasons.... Ars has been wonderful for us in more ways than one. Just to slow down (mom and dad esp) for a few days, unwind, play tennis, ping pong, board games (you can borrow them), and just relax with the boys is priceless. We enjoyed a few fabulous French meals, many laughs, a walk around a lake where we watched, for quite some time, a old French man reel in a HUGE fish and we fed the ducks some of our baguettes. I love the sheer joy in the boy’s faces from these simple things ๐ŸŒธ
The boys also got a HUGE kick out of daddy telling us that when mommy is telling the French people “No, par li vous, Francious” #spelling?, she’s actually saying “YOU don’t speak French” instead of “I don’t speak French” ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿคท‍♀️ #nowondertheyjuststaredatme
