March for Life - DC - 2013

We were blessed again this year to travel to our nation's capital to March for LIFE!  They say there were about 500,000 people there!  (Amazing that it gets NO news coverage...but that's another story! Click here for a great 1 min video some seminaries put out.  There are two guys, one pretends to be NFP and one is A Contraceptive! In 1 min they show how MEDIA never covers any of this stuff! They have a few other quick good ones worth checking out! They make me actually laugh out loud!)

Myself and the two littlest ones did not march this year.  We had strep throat and the baby had the croup, so we decided it was best to say in the Smithsonian and wait for dad, Captain and Baba (grandma) to do the walk.

We did enjoy two days of being in the Smithsonian.  Here we are enjoying some of the Museum of Natural History....

This statue was actually brought from Easter Island!! Amazing...we adults walked by it a few times - it was Captain who said - "Look, one of the statues from Easter Island" - amazing what they learn in books, I have to admit that I don't know where Easter Island is - it's going to be hard keeping up to him!
The kids always enjoy the metro...

The Air and Space Museum...

The Museum of American history was awesome.  We'd never been here before and only made it through one of the many exhibits.

Tot was enthralled as you can tell... ;)

On Sunday we dropped off baba and had a little birthday party for tot who's already turning 2!

Thank you God for our little man.

We pray for an end to abortion and to heal all those women who have had abortions.

Our Lady of Guadeloupe, pray for the unborn...

PreK activites...

Our little Rex is doing so well in school and learning so quickly!  Here's just a few things he does, some on a weekly basis and other fun stuff!

He LOVES this maze - I print it off weekly from www.education.com for the letter we're on that week. They're the Kindergarten ones, but he's great at them.

He loves the book "Chicka Chick Boom Boom".  Daddy painted us this coconut tree and after we finish a letter we read the book and put our letter on the tree.  This is really too easy for him (he's known his letter for over a year) but he likes it :)

Here he's doing some worksheets from Confessions of a Homeschooler - practicing his Hooked on Phonics sight words. (he's great w/ his sight words.  I wrote each of them on the side of a huge dice and he rolls it, then reads the word - I'll post a pic later.  It helped him learn them very fast)

Coloring his St. Nicholas...
This is a cute Bedtime Learning book I made for him.  He helped color some pages.  It will teach him his address, birthday, phone number, skip counting, months, days of the week and coins.....now I just have to remember to read it to him!!

I put it on those nice little rings from Staples with a clock attached to the back to learn his time.

This is a neat weekly thing I print of Confessions also.  We had the magnetic blocks that went with it already (love when that works out!)

Some more A activities...(his bible verse, craft and practice writing)

He's doing GREAT with his Kindergarten Hooked on Phonics (about half way done). Here he is spelling some words that I dictate.

...and having fun at co-op last week.
The preschoolers join us for gym class...

He was having so much fun with his little best friends here I couldn't get a non blurry picture.  They were running all around the gym in the hula hoop.  The boy in the black shirt always wants to be with Rex :)  It warms my heart so :)  If anyone remembers, he is the boy who was on the cover of our faith Life diocesan magazine last year whom the doctor's wanted to abort due to a heart condition.  His mom had to go all the way to Cleveland to find someone to deliver him. He had surgery right away and is now thriving!!! Praise God!
Here's the little boy's mom doing fun things with the preschoolers.

Making a fun indoor snowball fight! (out of panty hose and stuffing!)

Whew! That's all for now!!!  Little tot is next week! Off to DC tonight!!
